3D Scanning systems
We are leaders on implementation of 'non-contact' vision and metrology systems. We use a long range of laser-based products. Our products can be used as: handheld inspection scopes, robotized inspection scopes, dimensional gauging, robot guidance, gap and flush, wheel alignment, robotic scanning and portable scanning.
Our products are able to report critical features and surface information in real time avoiding touching the part. All our products are designed to work in industrial environments.
Our laser-based sensors can be used to correct variations in part positioning. Our software detects any variation and corrects it.

Tire inspection
Today, our laser triangulation sensors are used throughout the tire manufacturing process worldwide. Sensors monitor thickness, profile and ply overlap, to name just a few applications. In-process sensing provides immediate feedback at critical stages in the production process. In this manner, faults may be found immediately and corrective action quickly applied.
Providing reliable data from surfaces with rapidly changing colour and surface properties, LMI systems integrate high frequency response 2D and 3D profiles from surfaces, monitoring items such as radial run-out, side wall profiles and tread extrusion contours.
Our Rubber & Tire applications division works closely with System Integrators & Original Equipment Machine Suppliers and Tire Manufacturers to deliver the most effective solutions for their particular sensor vision needs.
Moisture test
Leather-Check uses a variant of IR thermography known as 'lock-in' thermography to analyze samples under test. In this method, the sample to be tested is heated at its surface by an intensity modulated source. This heat penetrates into the interior of the sample as a thermal wave and any change in the properties of the sample material such as cracks, cause a change in the propagation characteristics of the wave.
After the thermal wave is reflected to the surface of the sample, it becomes superimposed (or 'locked-in') onto the initial wave such that any defect is revealed by a local change in the phase angle. By recording the surface temperature of the sample with an IR camera, the temperature-time function of the image can be analyzed on a host computer. By calculating a phase image, the internal structure of the component and its interior defects are revealed. Depending on the modulation parameters of the heat source during the measurement, different depth ranges within the image can be displayed.

Led Illumination
We now offer a 4' LED ring lights.
These extended working distance LED ring lights are designed to provide two inches of field coverage for a working distance of three to nine inches.
A newly designed housing allows these ring lights to be mounted to the front of many standard video lenses using the Ring Light Filter Thread Adapters.

Visual inspection
Precision machine vision inspection systems are programmable and provide customized automated video inspection. The powerful software allows an automatic inspection sequence to be defined by the user for each particular work piece configuration.

Alignment and gauging
Many applications require the verification of exact dimensional measurements according to their specified manufacturing tolerances. This process is referred to as 'gauging'.
A digital camera together with the right vision software tools can easily automate this inspection step for a variety of products and parts. Alignment and gauging can also be used in conjunction with vision guided motion applications. In that case the visual feedback is being used to align mechanical or optical components.
This is an example of a battery clamp inspection. The vision software (NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection) is automatically locating specific part features, regardless of whether the part has shifted or rotated within the field of view of the camera.
